In case people are wondering how come it’s already past our due date and still no news from us, here’s an update. We are now officially a week overdue. I am feeling more and more uncomfortable but Chou-chou’s ignoring the eviction notices. I went in to see doctor yesterday and she sent me to the hospital for another non-stress test with the possibility of induction. However, since everything seems fine and Chou-chou seems very happy, there is no need to induce me until I’m 10-days overdue. So that means they won’t do anything until Monday. Well, at least we now have a more definite date.

I have started experiencing very mild contractions since yesterday (so mild that I didn’t even know I was having them until the nurse pointed them out to me during the non-stress test). I did have a couple more painful ones last night, but they just came and left, though I stayed up all night until 6am waiting for more to come.

Mom pointed out that my ankles are looking more and more swollen and my walk is more and more wobbly. I guess that means we’re getting so close now I should carry a towel everywhere I go in case my water breaks. We’ve stocked up the fridge one last time before Chou-chou arrives – got tons of chicken, eggs, pork bones, 莧菜, 節瓜, apples, juice, ginger…and no more 白菜 and 芥菜 for the next while.

My only fear now is being overdue, the baby’s gonna be bigger…oh the delivery…

I am now 6 days passed my due date, and from my last doctor’s appointment (Monday), my cervix is not yet effaced or dilated. I’m sick of reading/hearing other people go “I am 38 weeks and 80% effaced…” and I am so tired of people asking “oh…not yet?”. I already went in for a non-stress test last Friday and an ultrasound on Tuesday and everything looks fine. Chou-Chou’s dropped, engaged and ready to go. So why isn’t Chou-Chou coming out yet? I am so tired of waiting, so tired of being pregnant and so wanna go into labor NOW! I felt some “painful contractions” 3 hours earlier, but they were gone within a half hour. It’s 3am now and I’m sitting here waiting for the contractions to come back…but nothing…

I am starting to think there’s something wrong with me…maybe I am broken.

If I’ve known Chou-chou’s gonna be this late, I’d have stayed at work longer. Sitting at home everyday, waiting, bored outta my mind. All I do everyday now is wake up, go for a walk, make lunch, prepare dinner, watch TV, cook dinner, do dishes, watch some more TV and then try to fall asleep…I’ve already scrubbed the house a few times. I’ve done all the laundry. The dogs are bathed. I’m seriously pissed.

Well, today was our due date and we were hoping we’d be holding chou-chou in our arms already, but nothing’s happening so far. We went in for our 40-week checkup this morning and doctor said my cervix isn’t even close to being ready, whatever that means.

Doctor asked if I was late when I was born. I didn’t know it has something to do with it…I mean, if chou-chou is anything like me or Jason, we are in for much more waiting! Both him and I were 3 weeks late! And if I’m supposed to experience a similar labor as my mom…then SHIT! I should stock up on snacks and magazines and movies and music for a 30-hour labor. And chou-chou would be a forcep-baby!

There has been a drop in the movements (at least they have been less intense the past couple days) so we were asked to do a non-stress test at the hospital. The test was fine, I just had to lie on the bed with the two belts strapped onto my belly. One of the monitor-thingy kept losing contact…so what should have been a 20-min non-stress test became a 45-min stay-still-don’t-move/cough/laugh torture.

We’ll be going in for another checkup on Monday afternoon. I am seriously getting sick and tired of going in for checkups with nothing happening. I am so done with peeing in a cup!
