We took Christian in for his 12-month shots the other day and there’s only one word to describe it all – waterfall! It was painfully funny watching him cry and scream and the tears just kept gushing out. The nurse asked us if we had any concerns about his development, and even though I know not all babies walk/talk before 12-months…she reassured us that Christian’s doing great and some things just take time.
Somehow her reassurance didn’t help…I kept thinking I should’ve done more with him, and I secretly blamed Jason for being such a lazy parent – he could’ve done more, too! I was walking at 7 months and Jason, too, before 1. So, what’s wrong with Christian? Then..finally…today…he took his first steps! *Whew* I guess we are not bad/lazy parents afterall.
Now, I just need to get him to drink his milk from the cup. He’ll use the sippy cup only if it’s juice, water or Chinese soup. But once I put milk in it…he just throws the cup back at me.

it’s okay. cam didn’t actually start walking until he’s like 14 months. well, it could be a good thing. now that they know how to walk, they’re all over the house and it’s scary sometimes. for the talking part, cam’s still babbling around. the one and only word that he can say is “che che” = cars (except baba and the occassionally mama). but it seems like he can say a couple more things the last couple of days. so it just takes time. no worries =)
for drinking, cam never actually used a sippy cup. he went straight from bottle to a straw. try that. maybe that would help?
