My maternity leave has officially ended. I am now back at work, though only part-time, I couldn’t have done it without Grandma Bubbles (Jason’s mom). Tuesday was my first day back at the office and Grandma came over early – offering to feed Christian his breakfast so I can leave for work early in case of bad traffic. Yesterday was my work-at-home day and needless to say, with the little monster at home, I wasn’t able to get much done during my supposedly-9-to-5. So, today (my 2nd work-at-home day), I sent Christian over to Grandma’s in the afternoon so I can get some work done.
I just finished my week’s worth of work, including VMO design stuff. I even managed to power-cook and freeze a bunch of his food this evening, plus “managed” my CafeWorld/Hotel City/Social City/Baking Life on Facebook. Imagine if I didn’t send him over to Grandma’s today…I’d still be working and probably will be through the night, and my pot-roast and voodoo chicken salad on CafeWorld would’ve been ruined!! (Oh no!! Can’t let that happen…ever!!)
Seriously, Grandmas are God-Sent. I just hope that later on, when Christian has his own kids, I will have the energy and mulahs to be the supportive grandma Jason’s mom and my mom have been to Christian and me.
side-note: Who has it worse, the full-time mom with a part-time job plus freelance responsibilities, or the full-time 9-5 with once-a-week beer league hockey plus nightly HK-soap series chasing dad? Sometimes I wonder if guys DO have it easier…
