Week 3: Sleep-feeding, Diapers and Batteries
Yes, we survived another week. I’ve finally mastered the art of sleepwalking, sleep-feeding and sleep-burping, sometimes I’d wonder if I have forgotten to burp Christian, but he didn’t complain and went back to sleep right-away so I guess I did. Getting out of bed every 90 minutes throughout the night is painful…you have to be quick so that the baby doesn’t cry too long and wake up the entire neighbourhood and you have to be quiet so that you don’t wake up the husband and the poochie snoring away beside you, then after putting the baby back to sleep, you have to quietly and quickly crawl back into bed before the next feeding an hour later.
Christian’s been good so far, feeding and sleeping well. Tummy time is also going great, he’s beginning to pull his head up and keep it up longer. He’s also kicking his legs like he’s trying to crawl. We can already tell he’s going to be one active baby/kid.
By the way:
1. It’s amazing how many diapers a little baby goes through each day! We’re using Huggies’ Pure and Natural diapers and unfortunately they don’t come in economical bulk packs. We really got to think about potty-training him soon…
2. It’s even more amazing how many batteries you go through: baby monitor, breast pump, baby swing/rocker…and each one of them uses a different type of battery (9V, AA, AAA, D…).
3. Maybe it’s time to get a Costco card, just for batteries and diapers.
